Dale Smith Jr. (Canirralzria) traces a projected image of a whale. The original drawing was made by Timothy Kangleg for Hans Himmelheber probably in Nash Harbor in 1937. According to Himmelheber (who spelled the artists name Gangelich) the drawing depicted an actual event where "an ancestor found a dead white whale on the coast." (see Himmelheber's 1993 book Eskimo Artists, page 16.) According to the 1940 Mekoryuk census Timothy Kungelak was born in 1910 at St. Michael, although in photos of him taken by Himmelheber in 1936-37 he appears to be younger.
