Organization Mission Statement

The mission of Nuniwarmiut Piciryarata Tamaryalkuti is to strengthen our peoples' (Cup'ig Eskimo) cultural identity-especially young people-through the development of specific cultural resources relating to Cup'ig history and Native language. Central to this mission is the recording and transmission of the cultural knowledge of our village elders to our youth. Our goal is to develop materials and programs which capture the imagination of our young people and instill a sense of pride in themselves and their Cup'ig heritage and Native language.
